On the Release of Preprints on the Internet

December 2014

Preprints of papers that have been submitted to English Linguistics can be released on the author’s personal website, online archives, etc. only if the following two conditions are satisfied:

  1. The released preprint is the version of the paper that was first submitted to English Linguistics.
  2. English Linguistics is not mentioned.  (Reference to submission of the paper must be limited to expressions like “submitted for publication” or “under review.”)

In accordance with the ELSJ Regulations on Information Management, no version of an EL article submitted to the journal during the review process may be republished as a book chapter or as part of a collection of papers, registered in the academic repository or electronic archive of the author’s university or any other institution, or uploaded to a personal website until two years after the publication of the article in EL.
